sarah krueger and her boyfriend are charged with murder. in courted today, prosecutors said the coroner finds krueger's daughter, dayleigh slusher died of blunt impact injuries to head, torso, arms and legs due to child abuse and neglect. she was found dead inside of the apartment during a welfare check. abc7 news learned disgraced former san francisco supervisor ed jew is back home after serving time for federal extortion. now fight his state sentence for perjury he is supposed to serve in county jail. vic lee is in the newsroom now with the story you'll see only on abc7 news. vic? >> we've learned ed jew is released after serving almost five years, apparently a model inmate taught yoga and english. jew did not want to be interviewed and his attorney spoke to us. >> what are your plans after you

get out? >> future plans? >> when you get out? >> spend more time with my daughter and my wife. >> that is what ed jew told abc7 news in an exclusive interview just before he went to prison almost five years ago. jew was convicted on federal bribery charges, of trying to extort $80,000 from the owners of quickly tapioca drink shops who had permit problem was the city this, security video in jew's chinatown flower shop captured him accepting a bribe. $40,000 in cash. he doesn't realize the money was working for the fbi. he served four and a half years in federal custody, first in a minimum security prison, in arizona. >> his job was he was driver to other people, other inmates he had car keys and drove off the prison grounds and had freedom. >> lawyer stew handlynn says he spent two years in a prison camp in california. jew was also convicted in state

court for perjury, lying about where he lived when he ran for supervisor. prosecutors found he resided in this home in burlingame with his wife and daughter. for that, he got one year in county jail. a sentence he'll have to serve now that he completed federal time. but handlynn went to court asking the judge to waive the sentence saying federal authorities sent him to maximum security for six months instead of a halfway house when learning he still had to complete his county jail time. >> that is the extra punishment he needs. >> district attorney gascone says his position now is that jew ought to serve time for p r purr -- perjury. >> there is some accountability to this community that hasn't necessarily taken place. >> ed jew fights another court

been caught. >> there is new evidence as to whose zodiac may have been. and what have you learned? >> a man from new york tells me he knows who the zodiac is because the killer confessed to him. they've placed the name on the list of suspects. investigators tied the zodiac to five murders in 1968 and 69. taunting police about their inability to arrest them. december, 19682 teenagers killed in benicia. >> two victims were ordered out of the car, and shot. >> 1969 a couple shot the female died, male survived.

kenny says meyers asked him to wait until after he died to tell authorities and he wanted kenny to write a book with proceeds going to victim families he died in may, 2002 and kenny spent years trying to get police to listen. >> i feel louie was 100% honest that day. >> meyers lived in vallejo from 1965-1971 told kenny the reason he became a killer at age 17. >> over a girl he broke up with. that is why he went to these shootings, that is what the deal was with the couples. >> meyers had interesting circumstantial connections to the crimes. >> went to school with the kids >> meyers went to both high schools and could have known the first victims and number two. >> worked in a restaurant with a waitress >> kenny says he worked as a restaurant at terry's restaurant
